Blogging is fun and so is article writing. It’s easy for me to write about anything even stuff that I’ve never researched till now. I have read dozens of posts and blogs where people are just starting out and they are fiction writers. Some ask what do I write about? Do I write about writing a book or writing in general? Well you can, but it’s so crowded nowadays that you have to think outside the box. I can write a whole blog post about awesome writers who write about writing. I don’t see many fiction writers writing about other topics, and it’s sad so here is my suggestion.
Write about your characters…
Write about your vampires, werewolves, and witches…
Do character interviews.
Include story maps.
Write quizzes for readers to take.
Start blogging a book and giving away free stories.
There are tons of stuff to write about for fiction writers.
Write about your story world, and how it works.
Put up a few posts about character backstories.
There is a ton of stuff to blog about, and you can even put a few excerpts of your books.
Also put up some posts about your work in progress, and even post a picture of you working at your desk…
That’s my cat Callie at mine.
Writing is fun especially blogging since it gives readers a chance to see your work for fiction.
I hope you enjoyed this post since there are many more to come especially when my school is over for the summer.
Until next time,
I haven’t been blogging much lately, and the reason is because of school and work. With less then five weeks to go I’m gearing up for my projects with journalism. Only two more television projects to get through, and three articles to revise. Not to mention plan my layout for my Graphics for Journalism class. It’s a lot of work, and not for someone who is into instant gratification. The problem is mainly getting in touch with the people you need. Sometimes they can be friendly, and answer right away other times they ignore you or be incredibly rude. It’s a trial by fire for sure. When you have the camera none of the students seem like they want to talk at all. I plan to get a parking pass next semester and a smart tag to drive myself since my mom works there I ride in with her. I signed up for three this semester and three the next. It’s coming to a close so fast I definitely have to look for an internship and set it up Spring 2017. My boyfriend is also deployed for a year which sucks, but at least school and writing will keep me busy. I’m just counting down the days, but I’m also nervous since it means looking for a job in my field. Or if I write and publish more then I can just write full time. It’s going to be a change since I’ll have to move out, and get my own place. I’ll take over my car payments and pay my own bills. It also means that I’ll get a smart tag and a parking pass to take myself to school since I go to school mon-thursday. I’ve been in school way too long, and it will be 5 years in October working at a retail job. I definitely need a change. I want the ability to act like a grown up and plan things out. I’ll be able to blog more and film more Youtube videos. I’m also now in an issue of The Commonwealth Times. It was a long road to get that article done, but it reminds me that hard work pays off in the end.
Until next time,
It’s going to be a busy November since I have a lot of stuff going on. Book wise I will be participating in National Novel Writing Month which starts November 1st. I will be working on Redemption is Mine, and I figured it’s time to get it all written down at least the rough draft of it. I love writing, and I have heard somewhere that it will take 8 books before my writing career will take off. Hell it might even be less. I want to make time for it since I love it, and I have so much to talk about too. I can even blog about it, and even do Youtube videos updating everyone on my progress. It will help me stick to a schedule, and it might take a month for me to make it a daily habit. I also have to publish more novels, and finish the ones I start. The characters will definitely be intertwined in different novels. Some might even get their own standalone novels.
It’s also going to be Thanksgiving and Black Friday which is big in retail land. My cover reveal will be on Facebook November 4th, and the book will be officially out November 30th just in time for Christmas. I can’t wait for it to be out. I worked hard on it for years. It’s worth it and I’ve gave some of my paperbacks away to close friends and family and seeing their reactions is priceless. It’s the reason why I write. I never want to give up my dream either. I really hope it sells well because I love just worrying about school and writing. It’s nice, and it causes me less stress. I love being carefree and not worrying about not having enough coverage on the sales floor. I like the fact that I didn’t have to worry about seeing mean customers, and I enjoy sleeping in too. I’ve been cleaning my room with my boyfriend’s help, and organizing everything. He means the world to me at this point, and I love having him in my life. He is better than anyone else I’ve dated. He is also my rock, and reminding me why I need to go after my dreams. I realized I do need to work harder to get out of retail since I can’t stand how bad some of the customers treat me. On my birthday I looked across the table, and a lady was staring at me rather rudely. I realized something she was a rude customer who treated me badly, and I just rolled my eyes. It was a fancy place called Ruth Chris, and it was something I treat myself to on special occasions. I really should not have let it get to me, and that’s why I need to get out of retail. I want to write, and be at a job where I’m treated with respect. I’ve had a hard time in the past, and I’m happy things finally turned around.
#NaNoWriMo starts Sunday, and I can’t wait to write, blog, and film Youtube Videos about it and the process.
Until Next time,
