Mia Cut out bits!

Some bits are cut out to make the story flow, or ones that don’t need to be here. These are the scenes or sentences that didn’t make it to the book.

Some creatures returning items too small, too big, some showed their nipples. Returns, getting more orders since it’s almost Christmas, and the lines are so long they wrap around the place. It’s exhausting listening to them bitch day after day about first world problems. They are sitting here bitching if their order isn’t ready on their time table, and bitching if it gets lost when it wasn’t even our fault. Don’t even ask about the fitting room since I’m even afraid to go there, afraid of what I will find. Clothes piled high, and with no one to help out and run there will be tables and chairs filled with items creatures don’t want. Sales and coupons left and right with creatures bitching about it not working, and how they don’t like shopping at Nikki’s since nothing ever works. They don’t know how to use it right.

She has already worked retail with creatures before. Hell, she was here when Nikkis wasn’t here, but Dave’s Creature Store was, and it closed down since the owner was bought out by another company. Thank god, she was with me till close.

Since they were a pretty blue, I could tell they were beginning to tear up some. My hair is a long, whitish blonde, and I have a good sized chest. I currently wore my uniform and it’s a nice blue shirt, blue dress pants, and blue heels.

Standing on my feet all day doesn’t help either.  I’ve been cleaning fitting rooms all day too. People have no idea how to leave a fitting room right. Clothes are on the floor, shit is inside out, and even clothes left on the peg. They should be hung up instead. Like really? It this how you keep your place? Do you really think it’s our job to clean up after your nasty ass?

I have been yelled at coupons not working on certain items. I was tired and wanted to leave. I hoped the last 15 minutes were boring since it’s been a long day and I just want to go home. I don’t want to be picked on anymore. I’ve been standing behind a register, and cleaning up shit all day. Going home sounds better, safer and not being exposed to their shit. Or people who want to bitch over coupons and fuck up the fitting room…or leave items on fixtures that they don’t want since they had to come back just as we were about to close.

“Yes, and those customers are the worst so far I’ve seen dragon lady several times. She made me cry the first time. She said I shouldn’t be working there if I don’t know what I was doing. And bitching over not being at my register. Then she repeated herself twice over using the return label since she didn’t have her receipt or card.” I said shuddering over it.

Supernaturals can suck at communication when it comes to returning things. This vampire wanted an exchange on a few things and got mad she got charged money since according to her bitchy attitude it should be the same. I cancelled it and did it separate. Cause lo and behold she took out the ones she wanted to exchange them for. If the dumb bitch had gotten the items out beforehad it wouldn’t have happened…like was it really hard to give me the items you are exchanging them for. And she treated me like I was the dumbass when she didn’t use her head to give me the items beforehand. Another lady was making a big deal of her Bat money being added to her account and couldn’t understand it would be credited to it and added on top so after 3 times of redoing the damn transaction she finally let it go on the coffin return card.

I get yelled at over everything, and one lady got mad because she had to go all the way back to her car in the rain to get her ID and she came back with an attitude. She tossed it at me, and jerked her items away in a huff when she left. Like really? We ID so a person won’t get your stuff no need to be rude over it, and a lady gave me the nastiest attitude and kept screaming at me when I was typing her license number in.

My own car was a Stryker which is a fast car. It took me to where I wanted to go in a good amount of time. It takes me less then 20 minutes to get from my house to work. It’s also less then 20 to fill the tank. And the car in front of us was amazing once I opened the door and saw it. It was all black too. Castiel pulled out the key thing and hit a button. The door opened by itself. Neat. I go to the car, and get in the passenger seat. The inside is all leather and instead of a normal wheel it has a huge ass tablet instead. Castiel gets in the driver side. And when I sit in the passenger seat it buckled me in automatically.  It’s a sweet car I liked it.

Someone who won’t control me or tell me that I don’t need a shower since I’ve already taken one. My ex had major trust issues.

I am so ready for a change other then working in a department store. I need it since retail is killing my soul and I need out of here. At least I have a mate for life

I can’t believe we can finally get this settled. It’s important to me. I need him gone. It’s bad enough I lost everything. I need to get my mom out of hiding since they cast her out. So much is riding on this that I hope it works out. And maybe I’ll be able to ask her about my dad, and tell her when I meet him if I do. I

The car stopped and we all got out and the place in front of me is nice. It’s a building with the words Rockies Blood on top. There were even a neon vampire and werewolf sharing drinks. It’s all black and red and there are even people going inside. It was a fun little restaurant and Ember walked ahead of us so I followed behind her. She is the one who used to work there after all. She will know the way better than the rest of us.

Everything is solved and now I can do what I always want to do. Turn in my two weeks at Nikkis, and tell my mom the news. And I couldn’t wait. I finally get to leave the department store for good. I was excited so much it wasn’t funny. I was happy to say it was finally over. My time in customer service returns is done. I’m happy that I have finished retail for good. I typed up my two weeks and it was all a matter of time until I was done. This two weeks allowed me to get situated, and it was time for me to finish my two weeks and retail does have a drama of its own.  Short staffed, customers being assholes, and I was done with it all. My vacation went by so fast that it was time to hand in my notice and finish up strong. I never want to go back after this again. The people who look at you like shit, and insult you suck. I get to wear the name tag for two more weeks and then I’ll be done. After it’s up I will move to the island and stay there. No longer will I have to worry over working there forever.

I don’t have work till tomorrow so I go back to my roots, and finally track down my mom. I got to her hiding spot and drive to the area, and park my car. It was finally time to make peace with her.

I go up to the door of the small beach house she owns to escape. I knock on her door.

“Who is it?” she asked.

“Mia I have good news…” I yell hoping she answers…

She does and the door opened. He eyes wide, “Mia, I thought you were a goner…what happened?”

I smiled, “The leader is taken care of since Rockie stopped him, and I’m an AngelWitch because the dark angels found me…And Castiel saved me. He is my angelmate, and the one I needed in my life.”

She smiled, “Your father Raphael wanted me to keep us a secret since not a lot of creatures like you existing. We loved each other, and still do hence why it was shocking to see you arrive. I had no idea you could exist since you are a blessing. I was afraid I wasn’t able to have children and here you come. I’ll get word out to the coven and you can have our help.”

I nod, “That is good, and you’ll have to meet Castiel sometime and have him over for dinner. He is everything I ever wanted in a relationship and mate.”

“They are meant to be and I knew your father was mine, but we have to rule different world so we try to do what we can.” She said.

“Yes, and I can finally finish retail for good, and I’ll see you some other time. I love you…and you can tell the other.” I said.

“I will let me know when you need our help.” She said. I gave her a hug.

“I will…” I said.

And I left. Finally made up with mom I prepare for my last two weeks of retail…

But I still have hell to get through and these last 10 shifts are going to drag because it’s filled with stupid idiots wanting to ask stupid questions. Let’s hope they aren’t too shitty but it’s retail so let the torment begin! 2 weeks I can do this…I hope or go off on them because I don’t give a shit anymore since I’m already out.  I no longer had to care either…Because fuck it that’s why. I can now say all I wanted to without worry, and if they tried to fire me then whatever because they can’t since I’m already out. No pushing cards I don’t care to shove down people’s throat. And no mannequin bullshit either…Bring it.

The next day I don my uniform and put on my stupid nametag and head in. Already dreading bullshit but happy I don’t have to soon. I walk to personnel first thing. There is a lady sitting at the Nikkis desk, and I hand her the paper…He eyes widen, “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am since I have a better job that pays more…” I tell her then I walk back to the floor. I go to my area and there is already bullshit.

“And you should also know what it feels like to have someone control you, accuse you of cheating and break up without telling the person and having to find out from their sister like a jackass. He should have told me it was a break up from the start instead he didn’t, and tossed me like I meant nothing to him.” I said. Breakups are the worst, and it’s no wonder why I wanted to get blackout drunk. It’s hard enough as it is and to add being in customer service makes it ten times worse.

These are the scenes that didn’t make the book since some involved a ton of stuff that has nothing to do with the story line, or it slowed it down. I cut some scenes since I didn’t want to have too many subplots either. I am also working on a department store tales book since some scenes in Mia were way too long, and I have enough material for another book!

Until I have updates for Ember.

Scarlet Book 1 A Witchy Beginning Update:

Book 1 is finished and I was waiting for the beta readers to get back to me, and it took time which was understandable. I have all the feedback I needed now to revise it, and that is what I’m going to do. I’ve printed the entire thing out, and even the reader notes. I looked over it some, and the relationship between Scarlet and Nathan needs to be developed more. The powers are going to be scaled back. Nathan is a vampire with a dark magic obsession, and Zion is a powerful vampire that is enslaved by him. I put this off for the longest of time because of the work required, and me thinking I couldn’t do it because of the fact that I was overwhelmed. Now I know I can because I wrote this a few years ago, and I’ve grown more confident since then. I’m going to rewrite the entire thing, and develop the relationship to make the readers see why he is such a bad person. He has a history and a past. I want to show people it, and then they will understand. I also want to show the effects of someone in an abusive relationship too since it’s something people can relate to. The possessiveness and controlling behavior is enough to go insane over. I also owe it to my readers since I now have sold copies of book 4 and The Killer Contract Agency. I’m sorry for putting it off since I’ve been working on different projects and not focusing on the ones the most important. The Scarlet book 1 is the closest to being finished since the rough draft is done. All I need to do is revise it, and give it to more readers before getting it revised. Then copy edits for grammar and stuff then after I get the cover art I can hit publish. I actually have people reading my book, and I want to get something published since I have not been pushing things out, and the last book I released was a few years ago. I want to make this a full time thing which means writing and publishing more books. Well that’s enough for now. I have to get back on it…

Until next time,

Story Updates…

I finally finished The Killer Contract Agency rewrites, and now all I’m waiting for is to have en editor look at it, get the cover, and republish. It’s been a long journey with this book, and with it done I can finally work on other projects. I am typing up the first Scarlet book in the meantime, and I’ve written the second half and I’ll finish it so I can edit them both together and work on the third after the first and second are published. I know I’ve been promising those books for years. Life has gotten in the way more then once, and I find it hard to concentrate on writing with VCU and working part time at the same time. I need to take it more seriously. I want to quit retail part time so I can write full time instead I’ll need to be more on the ball with it. I can’t sit there, and not write and publish the stories I want people to read. Hence why I have enough stories to write full time, and make my dream of it come true. I’m hopeful about it because it’s something I really want to do for the rest of my life. I’ll write a blog post about the story when it comes out, and put the links there too.
Until next time,

Beta Reader Notes/Editor Notes for The Killer Contract Agency:

After you write a novel there comes the editing phase, and several rough drafts to go before it is polished. I have very good feedback from the people I gave The Killer Contract Agency too. It doesn’t need any major rewrites just grammar issues, and expanding parts of the story to make it longer and more filling. I figured I would write a blog post about this phase to let people see what it is like to work on a novel, novella, or short story. Everything needs to be edited before publication since you want the best possible book out there. There is no such thing as getting it perfect because you are not going to catch everything. As I go through it I check to make sure it makes sense, and to fact check the issues that don’t. I had to change the first scene from tar to mud because it made more sense for it. I have to make the hospital scene more realistic as well.  The ending needs to be longer and I have to fix the switching from past to present issue better. I need to make sure the customer stays a certain form in the story, and make sure Salina’s dad is named Steve through the entire story. I also need to put in more of Carter’s back story since he is a part of the story in a big way. You will definitely see Salina and Carter in Retribution is Mine which is the second Scarlet book. I’m halfway through it too. It might take less time for me to edit The Killer Contract Agency and then after I get the cover I’ll have it republished. I’m also working more since school is over, but I hope to have it republished by the end of summer.

Until next time,

Updates and another cut scene…

Unfortunately, the retail ebook is going to be delayed, and I should have the answer that I have been waiting for soon on when it will be done since the extensive editing is delayed. I have a month of school left, and after a certain time in May when my last exam is going to be I will begin working on the first three Scarlet novels. The first Scarlet ebook will be free, and then it will cost $2.99 with each ebook to make it affordable to readers. I look forward to finally having the ebook out soon. School has been keeping me busy, and work too. I have gotten through chapter 4 in the edits and one of the scenes I wanted was cut down since it did not flow with the story here it is:

I panic momentarily then, took the time to learn about the register area. There is a light at the top of a pole to show the number. I turn it down, which means the register lane is no longer open and it turns the light off. If it’s in the middle it flashes, and that means a supernatural helper’s aide will come to the rescue. Up turns it on, to signify the register is open.

There is a trash can and cleaning solutions in a cubby. The plastic bags are straight, and stuck on a rotating circle which makes it easier to put the items in the bags.

“Excuse me, are you going to check me out or just stand there?” I looked at the woman in question. Her bright blue eyes look at me like I am crazy, and her graying silver hair in a bun. She is a werewolf by the smell of her.

I smile at her. “Sorry ma’am just looking around at all the activity.”  I start to ring her up like Roger had shown me, remembering to put everything in the right bag and making conversation with her.

“So ma’am how long have you been shopping here?”

“For years. Werewolf weekly magazine has this store as five stars for werewolf goodies place. I always have a good deal.”

I smile, “Because that is the way of Fiona’s Corner! Good deals for supernatural creatures.”  I get done and total her up.

“Total is 176.90.”

She looks at me and says. “Slide it.” I nod. She finished, and she stared at something to my side. Then she looks back at me giving me a death glare like I shot a puppy. “You forgot my coupons.” Oops, you would think I killed her child. She starts to turn into a wolf, and I whisper. “Sietna she a li.” Her eyes turn normal after the spell binds the wolf from harming me.

“Go to customer service if you cannot control yourself.” I send her to customer service to get the discounts. She leaves, and now comes another customer.

A vampire who is probably buying something for his friend’s baby.

“Can you check the price for me?”

I take the handheld scanner, scan the item, and hit the item inquiry key.

He glares at me like it is my fault it rang up that way. “It was $99.00 at least that is what the sign said.”

“Okay sir be nicer, and I won’t have an issue.” I replied sarcastically sick of his attitude toward me.

I void the item, and hit price override then hit 1 for pricing error and type the right amount in. I had to wait here for the SCSM to respond, and they take forever sometimes.

“Are you going to scan the other items? ” He barked like I am his personal dog to kick around.

“Yes, as soon as he Okay it.” I replied sweetly ignoring his rude attitude toward me.

The guy comes, and he forgot to tell me it was a gift receipt. I touch the button, and rescan the item. The dick pays the bill, and then I ring him up this time hitting the gift receipt then ringing him up. He leaves leaving me to want to throttle the dick.

I spend a few more hours on the registers dealing with some charming people. I loved the delightful customers, and the ones who treated me like a being instead of like a slave.

I finish at the register when Roger comes back from his break to take charge of the register again. I signed off and he signed on.

By the way there will be a second retail novel titled: Being an Empathic Witch in Retail Spells trouble. This time it features angels and witches exploring the realm of angels in more detail.

I hope you enjoyed it!

Until next time,

It is finally here! #NaNoWriMo 2013

#NaNoWriMo is finally upon us, and I could not be happier since the novel I have been trying to get out is finally going to be finished by December 1st when it ends. I was going to do it last year, but things got in the way and I forgot why I did not do it. Now however I am going to participate in it no excuses, and so far I am at 1,403 words. Many more to come before I go to bed, and I have school and I work part time so the biggest challenge will be finding the time to pound out on the keyboard with tv shows in the background since I cannot do it in silence. I will get more time when the tests are done my last one is November 7th. And I have gotten through the first chapter editing my novella Being a Vampire in Retail Sucks. It is about a vampire going undercover in a supernatural store to solve the mystery of the disappearances of three women who are a part of the Moon Wolf clan, and Scarlet owes them since they are one of the two packs that rescued her from an evil necromancer. I hope to have it done in a month or two hopefully. See I have been busy, and my birthday was last month too. Day 1 of NaNo got off to a rough start since I had some car issues, and I had to get a new car. But today it is better since I am catching up on the day I fell behind. I wanted to start writing daily which is why I am doing it in the first place. I want to be a full time writer eventually, and writing daily needs to be a part of my daily life.

What about you? Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? Why?

Until next time,

I am not going to be able to make the October 31st publishing date because of all the work ahead of me. I should not have nailed a date at all until I know I am going to make it because I still have more editing to do. I am going to print the novella out, write down the beta reader feedback, and completely rewrite it. I am going to do it with Revenge against the Ex, and the Killer Contract Agency too. Readers deserve to know more about the Agency, and how the Luxor realm works. I have improved my writing more, and way more if I have more of an idea on how to make it better. I am getting slammed with midterms too, and it is part of the reason why I am not going to make it. VCU is harder than I expected, but at least I will have more time to work on my writing.

Until next time,
